The BCRA Lowers the Monetary Policy Rate

The Board of the BCRA reduces the monetary policy rate from 40% to 35% APR. It has also reduced the interest rate on repos from 45% to 40% APR.

The BCRA's decision is grounded in the liquidity context, a drop in inflation expectations—both in the REM and in the implied levels in the securities secondary market—and the strengthening of the fiscal anchor.
