The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Argentina has authorized the issuance of gold and silver commemorative coins within the program for the 2010 World Cup South Africa.
The obverse was designed by the Central Bank's Deputy Management Office for Control, Design and Numismatics under the Management Office for Treasury Control and Planning.
The center shows the effigy of three fans with the national flag standing for an Argentine crowd at a football game. The left arch reads “REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA” (“ARGENTINE REPUBLIC”), and on the right, the year of issuance—“2010”.
The center shows the logo of the 2010 World Cup South Africa and the face value—“5 PESOS”—beneath. The upper arch reads “COPA MUNDIAL DE LA FIFA SUDÁFRICA 2010” (“2010 FIFA WORLD CUP SOUTH AFRICA”).
