To coordinate and lead the analysis of and research on financial innovation and inclusion and the creation of programs on financial and economic education to promote financial inclusion for development.

Alejo Macaya|Senior Manager

He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) and a master’s degree in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT).

Prior to taking up his current position at the BCRA, he served as Financial Development Manager, and Foreign Trade and Exchange Research and Regulations Manager. He also served as Deputy Manager, Head and Senior Analyst in the Foreign Trade and Exchange Analysis and Research area.

Previously, he was a researcher at the Research Center for Transformation (Centro de Investigaciones para la Transformación, CENIT) and worked for the National Bureau of International Accounts of the Economic Policy Secretariat at the Argentine Ministry of Economy.

He is a full professor of Mathematics Supplements in the master’s program in Economics. He was also an associate professor of Mathematics for Economists of the School of Economics at UBA, and a professor of Welfare Economics and Market Failures at Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento (UNGS). In addition, he was a researcher at the Center for Research in Quantitative Methods Applied to Economics and Management (Centro de Investigaciones en Métodos Cuantitativos Aplicados a la Economía y la Gestión). He has authored several papers.
