Financial Innovation Event in Mendoza

Mendoza has hosted the first federal event of financial inclusion, the initial stage of a joint endeavor pursued by the Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) and the Ministry of Modernization, with the support of the Ministry of Social Development. This stage is called “co-creation”. The Financial Innovation Event took place at Le Parc, Guaymallén Department, on Tuesday, May 30.

Some of the panelists that focused on financial inclusion and innovation were: Heraldo Muñoz (CEO of Fensus), Virginia Redondo (General Manager of Giros Express), Diego Marín (CEO of Voyenbus.com, online tickets), Javier Lombardi (Fundación 1+1, Development and Inclusion of Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises), Alejandro Cosentino (founder of Afluenta) and Germán Giménez (CEO and co-founder of Olpays.com).

Representatives of the Government of Mendoza, the Ministries of Modernization and Social Development, and of the Central Bank of Argentina were also present. Finally, there was time for networking.

The next federal events will take place in the cities of Salta (June 7) and Neuquén (July 5).

This stage of co-creation will be followed by a hackathon, an event in which all participants are welcome to work in groups for two days—August 25-26—to drive financial innovation, and build prototypes to solve financial challenges. It will take place in the City of Buenos Aires. Finalists of the hackathon will reach the last stage—incubation—, during which projects are sought to be implemented.
